Shengya Chen | Sally

Front-end developer with a flair for web design and a knack for data processing. Skilled in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and always excited to bring creative ideas to life on the web!
When I’m not coding, you’ll find me swimming, experimenting with crochet, or attempting (often clumsily 😂) to conquer hiking trails.

About me

I graduated in mid-2024 with a Master of Information Technology from the University of Western Australia (UWA). My journey into tech wasn’t a traditional one – I began my career as a Senior Editor in the entertainment sector for one of China’s top four news portals. My role there involved managing over 20 interns and leading a team of four editors, while also experimenting with HTML coding. This early exposure to coding sparked my interest in technology and eventually led me to pursue a Master’s in IT.

Since transitioning into front-end development, I’ve focused on honing my skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks such as Vue and React. Recently, I’ve expanded my skill set to include C#, with the goal of becoming a full-stack developer in the future. Throughout my learning journey, I’ve also gained proficiency in UI/UX tools like Figma, which allows me to design user-friendly and visually appealing interfaces.

One morning, when Gregor Samsa woke from troubled dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a horrible vermin. He lay on his armour-like back, and if he lifted his head a little he could see his brown belly, slightly domed and divided by arches into stiff sections.

The bedding was hardly able to cover it and seemed ready to slide off any moment. His many legs, pitifully thin compared with the size of the rest of him, waved about helplessly as he looked. "What is happened to me? " he thought. It was not a dream.

His room, a proper human room although a little too small, lay peacefully between its four familiar walls. A collection of textile samples lay spread out on the table - Samsa was a travelling salesman - and above it there hung a picture that he had recently cut out of an illustrated magazine and housed in a nice, gilded frame.

It showed a lady fitted out with a fur hat and fur boa who sat upright, raising a heavy fur muff that covered the whole of her lower arm towards the viewer. Gregor then turned to look out the window at the dull weather. Drops of rain could be heard hitting the pane, which made him feel quite sad.
